Doughnut in a Mug (Mugnut)

If you have a busy lifestyle or a demanding job, then this is a go-to desert you can make and share with your family and friends. For this mugnut, I used the 'Orange and Baobab Jam' by Chosan.

A few weeks back, I was gifted some jam flavours to try out. My first thought was to try them out on doughnuts. However, I also wanted to make something super easy, something that could be as easy as making "jam on toast". Then, the idea of mugnut came to mind.

I enjoyed using this product as it is 100% organic with less sugar than most jams and there are no artificial sweeteners. It is suitable for everyone. It was a delicious filling to my doughnut.

RECIPE- DOUGHNUT IN A MUG (MUGNUT)

This recipe depends on the size of your mug and the power of your microwave.

INGREDIENTS

1 Egg yolk

2 tablespoon of milk

2 tablespoon of sugar

2 tablespoon of butter

1/2 teaspoon of baking powder

41/2 tablespoon of all purpose flour

a pinch of cinnamon powder

2 tablespoon of Jam

a pinch of cinnamon sugar to garnish

METHOD

  • Get your microwavable mug, place your butter in it and melt for roughly 30 seconds or less.

  • Mix in the cinnamon powder, egg yolk, sugar, baking powder and flour. Give it a good stir.

  • Once the batter is completely mixed together, place the the jam in the centre of the batter.

  • Microwave for about 45-50 seconds. Again this would vary depending on the power of the microwave being used. But be sure to stay close to your mug and avoid it overflowing. Once the top is hard to touch, your mugnut is ready.

  • Garnish with a bit of cinnamon sugar and add some extra jam on top (optional).
